The Department of Internal Affairs has carried out major anti-spam raids in Christchurch.
The department says it has seized 22 computers and boxes of documents from four Christchurch addresses.
The addresses raided are believed to be connected with an international junk email operation.
Members Internal Affairs' newly set up anti-spam unit interviewed two Christchurch businessmen on Tuesday. They were speaking to after four search warrants were executed simultaneously at addresses around the city.
The department says the raids are the result of a four month operation.
